MY PASSAGE

For me, the reporters are all effective because I learned a lot from them.  I know all the topics that they discussed will help me in future, most especially in making, producing and directing a film.

                       

Since I was a little child I really like and I dreamed to become a scriptwriter and a director.  I thought that in just a click of my hands I can direct, produce and make a wonderful script but sad to say I was wrong.  After they discussed about those topic I realized that it’s not easy as I think.  It would require dedication, patience, wild imagination, etc…

                       

I really enjoy attending and listening to the reporters because all the topics are interesting, it helps me to prove the things that already know. Like for example, before in cinematography I didn’t aware that there’s a lot of camera shot, I thought that they only used 3 kinds of shot, which is the medium, close-up and long shot

                       

I love watching movies.  Before I watched movies as my pastime and for no reason, sometimes I watched it because of the actor who will go to portray the role. But after we discussed all topics I realized that I can learn and I can also get some techniques in making a film by just sitting in a front of the television and criticizing all the film that I’m going to watch.

                       

I also learn that I need to view things in some ways.  I can’t forget what my former professor said to me “Ang manunulat ay ipinapanganak at hindi ginagawa.”  I loose my hope to become a good writer and director because I know I’m not born to become a writer and director. My own instinct pushes me to continue what I have started.  But, after all the discussions, I discover that he was wrong… the writers could be made.  It’s just like in acting everything can be learned; all we need is patience and the willingness.

                       

I know and I prove that everything we discussed will help me a lot.

EVERYMAN

This play is probably the finest and best known of the morality plays of the Middle Ages that have come down to us.

At first, I thought that this play “Everyman” would not be interesting, but after I finished watching it I found out that I was wrong.  Although there are some mistakes the actors can overcome it.  It was my first time to watched a play that used the traversed stage.  It’s very hard to watch a play that used the traversed stage because it’s hard to determine the front and back audience.  Like for example I assign to sit at the back of the performers, it’s very hard for me to see their facial expression although I can hear what they trying to say.

         

I think the play will become more beautiful and more believable if they spend much money in the production design of the stage.  In their props they only used 4 seesaws, I know it help a lot but its not enough. The seesaw was destructing their concentration.  They also used different colors of lights that help to give life to the stage, for me, it would be better if they only used a dark color because the concept of the story is about a death and not a happy one. If also suggest that they should delete the scene of actual smoking, it has a bad effect to the play.

        

I was so much confused on the entrance and exit that they used.  They enter and exit in different way. 

         

The character portrays their roles effectively they know how to ad-lib when they commit a mistake. All of them have a quality voice. I admire their unity because there are some characters that play double role.  It’s very hard for them to change their costume every time they alter to another character.  That’s why it would be better if somebody who has not part of the play will take the role.

Generally, the actors perform well but there is some little action that can’t hide the little mistake.

           

COMMERCIALS

Watching Television Commercial is part of our daily routine it really affects our life.  According to my observation almost 50% of Filipino Commercial focus on family values, it has a big impact on child’s social growth, behavior, and self –image.

One of the best commercial I ever seen was the ”PLDT Commercial” wherein they focus on Family Communication, the parents together with their two children. When you see the commercial it seems that the parents didn’t treat their child equally.  After Mark and Jason received their grades, their mom and dad asked how is it. Jason says that he’s still on the top which is usual to them while Mark says that “Pasado lang Dad.”  They show to Mark that they appreciate the grade even though its not too high and as an incentive they ask Mark in everything he want.  They do this to motivated Mark to study hard.  The parents didn’t notice that Jason annoyed, he was jealous of what he sees and heard.  Through communication they found out what is the problem.

It is not true that the parents didn’t treat their child equally.  The truth is our parents are the primary sources of emotional support, in the situation Mark need more support, love, understanding and companionship coming from his parents than Jason.

By contrast children who are treated with respect by their parents are more likely to develop a positive self-image and learn healthy conduct because their parents provide appropriate models of behavior.
